Laurel is a mid-season cultivar known for its rich, sweet flavor and firm, medium-to-large berries. It was developed in Nova Scotia, Canada, as a successor to the ‘Cavendish’ variety. The fruit is often described as having a sweet and aromatic flavour. Berries are a glossy bright red. The fruit is firm and hold up well after harvest and for short-term storage or freezing. Laurel produce ample runners, making them suitable for establishing matted rows in garden plots.
