Description

York elderberries are an early variety that are incredibly sweet. They produces large clusters of small berries. Bred in Canada and are very cold hardy.  Best used for cooking, juice, wines and preserves. Elderberries are easy to grow and are very rich in vitamin C and have been used for their medicinal properties as they are believed to help treat cold and flu symptoms. Creates a beautiful display of white flowers in the spring.

Will mature 6-10ft tall and 6ft wide.

Elderberries should cooked before consumption. Consuming fresh elderberries can be toxic. Can be grown in sandy or loam soil.

Can plant in full sun or some shade. Will be potted in 2G containers.

Pollinator Recommended. Will produce some fruit on it’s own but yields increase with pollination.
