Spartan (Dwarf)

Description

Spartan is very attractive, sweet red apple. The fruit is a deep-red color that is smaller in size with an incredible taste. Apples are crisp and juicy, but it softens within a week of picking. This is also a good variety for juicing. Spartan is an excellent garden apple, is easy to grow, resistant to scab, is cold hardy and produces a reliable crop.

Scientifically breed in Canada. It was raised at the Canadian Apple Research Station in Summerland, British Columbia, in the 1920s, and the mother variety is McIntosh.

Pollinator required: Choose another pollinator such as Empire, Gala, Fuji , Granny Smith, Red Delicious, Fuji and Honeycrisp.

Sold as 1 year whips that are 4ft in size grafted on Bud 10 rootstock, which will have a mature size of approximately 10ft.

Sold as a bareroot tree (not potted) in early spring with pickups from April 27-May 5th.
