Description
A heritage tree, introduced to France prior to 1800. A truly unique taste with a juicy blend of citrusy and sweet flavor combined with its aromatic flesh makes it incomparable. Anjou is an upright, vigorous tree that is moderately resistant to fireblight. Beautiful in bloom and one of the heaviest producing pear trees. Fruit is large, firm, with a satisfying crunch with each bite. Pears are light yellow and green and is some of the most symmetrical and beautiful pears available. Stores well into winter. Their dense flesh holds up well, making them ideal for various culinary applications. Late season variety.
Partially self fertile but produces higher yields with cross pollination. For best pollination it’s best to plant with another late season variety such as Bosc.
Hardy to Zone 5.
On OHxF97 rootstock, tree will mature around 15ft. Trees are 2 year whips that have started to branch out, with a caliber of 7/8″.
Trees are sold as bareroots (not potted) and will be available for pickup from April 24-April 27th, 2026.
Potted trees will be available in May, for $10 more per tree, subject to availability.
