Emperor Francis – Dwarf

Description

Emperor Francis has origins dating back to the early 1900’s, which has made it staple for many generations. It is a consistent producer with an incredible sweet taste and is resistant to cracking. Fruit is large, yellowish-red in colour,  and plump and delicious. They are best eaten fresh or for making homemade maraschinos or preserves. Like all cherry trees they grow best in well draining soil with full sun.

Suitable for zones 5-8.

Bloom colour: White

Requires a pollinator, pair with another mid-season variety such as BlackPearl or EbonyPearl.

On Gisela 5 rootstock, trees will mature around 10ft. Trees are two year-old trees that have started to branch out with a caliber of approximately 1/2″.

Trees are sold as bareroots (not potted) and will be available for pickup from April 24-April 27th, 2026. 

Potted trees will be available in May, for $10 more per tree, subject to availability.
