Jubileum

Description

Jubileum is a revolutionary Hungarian sweet-tart cherry that is exceptionally versatile. While most tart cherries are traditionally used for cooking, Jubileum  have a pleasant sweet-tart taste making them commonly used for both cooking and eating fresh. They are often considered as a hybird sweet-tart cherry but are generally included in the tart family. The fruit has a dark purplish colour and are firm and round,  making them an excellent choice for U-Pick and retail sales. They are early maturing and ripen about 10 days before Montmorency.  Jubiluem are reported to have health benefits due to their rich antioxidants and are high in anthocyanin, a compound that is thought to have anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, and cancer fighting properties.  They are resistant to bacterial canker and are an abundant producer.

Self pollinating. Can also be used as a pollinator for BlackPearl and EbonyPearl sweet cherries.

Trees are sold on Mahaleb rootstock and will mature between 15-20ft. Currently trees have a caliber of 15-20mm and are two years old.
