Description
Rainier is a popular variety prized for its exceptionally sweet, large and golden-yellow fruit with a distinctive red blush. The fruit is known for its firm, creamy-yellow flesh and very sweet flavor, often described as the best of all yellow cherries. The high sugar content is a major highlight, though the thin skin makes the fruit delicate, meaning the best quality fruit often comes from home gardens rather than stores. The variety is productive and high-yielding.
Hardy variety. Suitable for zones 5-7.
