Description
Yellow Transparent apple tree is a historic heirloom variety renowned for being one of the earliest to ripen each season. It has exceptional cold hardiness, making it a staple for northern gardeners, hardy to Zone 3. Prized for its near-translucent yellow skin, this apple makes for excellent fresh eating with a sharp and sweet flavour. Best eaten fresh off the tree or making applesauce. Historical variety with origins dating back to the 1800’s.
Pollinator required, compatible varieties include Liberty, Jonamac, Honeycrisp, Crabapple varieties and Royal Courtland.
Zone 3-7.
Ripens: Late August
Trees are two years old that are grafted on G890 rootstock. Trees will mature 12-15ft.
Trees are sold as bareroots (not potted) and will be available for pickup from April 24-April 27th, 2026.
Potted trees will be available in May, for $10 more per tree, subject to availability.
